This is an old-time auction lot with truly important baseball volumes from several generations in varying conditions. Nine books in all so we'll lead off with the 11-by-16-inch "The Book of Baseball" from 1911 filled with wonder art prints and line drawings from the era to say nothing of dozens and dozens of photos of the great stars of the game of the period. The book is in Fair condition and has been carefully rebound. Then there is a nice condition copy of the "Frank Merriwell's Baseball Victories" pulp book No. 48 (Very Good but covers separated from spine); Very Good issue of Baseball Magazine from May 1917; "The Baseball Cyclopedia" (6 1/2-by-9 inches) from 1922 in Fair condition with pages separated and rebound; "The Story of Baseball" from 1949 (also 6 1/2-by-9 inches); "Sporting News Baseball Official Guide" from 1960 (Presents Excellent); the intriguing (inscrutable?) "Earned Run Average Reckoner" and "Baseball Ready Reckoner" 4-by-7-inch volumes from 1959 and 1957 respectively providing forewords in Japanese and vertigo-inducing tables designed to calculate earned run and batting averages; and batting ninth a nice Ex-Mt volume of the 1968 Sporting News Baseball Guide.
