Presented here is an outstanding high-grade 1906 WG2 Fan Craze National League complete set. Including the cover card the set is comprised of 55 different cards with a healthy population the ever-powerful Giants of McGraw.  The 1906 Fan Craze set was among only a few card issues that helped to bridge that gap between the landmark 1887 N172 Old Judge set and the 1909-11 T206 White Border issue a period in which a limited number of baseball card sets were produced. The set is notable for including some of the earliest known cards for many of its subjects as well as for its superb portrait imagery courtesy of the great Carl Horner. The black-and-white portraits featured in this Fan Craze set are immediately recognizable to collectors and they would become the basis for so many other sets of the era. This includes the sets most notable entry Honus Wagner which shares the same portrait images as his legendary T206 card.

The offered set is mostly NM-NM/MT with some better and only a few lesser. This set is relatively fresh to the market as it was last offered publicly in 1999 as part of the famed Barry Halper Collection.
