Very nice condition 1900 First Edition copy of Cap Anson's book "A Ball Player's Career makes for incredibly interesting reading with much of the book dedicated to a very detailed account of the 1888-89 Spalding World Tour including many photographs. In addition there are many vintage photos picturing many of the teams Anson was a part of from 1871 Rockford Citys through his last Chicago Colts team as well as prominent players of the day. The cover is in decent condition and relatively clean. Most inside pages also clean with a few at the center having a light water stain near the top edge. A few pages at the center were "dinged" at the top middle edge with a pair of small tears the result. Spine is tight. All things considered a very good condition copy of a tremendously insightful look into the beginnings of professional baseball from possibly the greatest player of the 19th Century.
