Very nice condition ticket stub to the 1894 Harvard-Yale football game that became known as "The Bloodbath in Hampden Park" a brutal contest won by Yale 12-4. The game was so ferocious that period newspapers reported numerous players were injured with seven players reportedly carried off the field "in dying condition". Even Harvard All-American Bertram Gordon "Bert" Waters was accused of jabbing a finger into fellow Yale All-American Frank Butterworth's eye. School administrators were so shocked by the violence that all official contact between the two schools was cut off resulting in the cancellation of the next two Harvard-Yale games. Appealing condition $2.50 Special Reserved Seat ticket stub is relatively clean with a couple of light creases that do not break the front paper. A little light staining at bottom border front and back. Historic piece from a significant and famous early Harvard-Yale football contest. Stub is the only one ever handled by PSA and has been slabbed PSA AUTHENTIC.
