As of this writing, Grover Cleveland is the only United States president to serve two non-consecutive terms. During his latter term, from 1893 to 1897, Cleveland guided the nation through a trying period of economic downturns and crippling labor strikes. This difficult period none the less formed the foundations of the modern United States and prepared the nation for the challenges of the 20th century. This document was signed by President Cleveland in 1893 and appoints the postmaster of Troy, Alabama. The piece has been matted along with a print of a painted portrait of the 22nd and 24th president and an engraved plaque listing his achievements. The complete framed display measures 29.5” x 44.5” and comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA.
