Complete set of the attractive full color 1887 Tobin Lithograph trade card issue. Beautiful cartoon-like drawings depict caricature action drawings of 10 popular players from the 8 National League teams. Players are: Philadelphia - "GO IT OLD BOY" Ed Andrews "NOT ONTO IT" Charlie Ferguson; New York - "WHERE'L YOU HAVE IT?" Tim Keefe(HOF) "AIN'T IT A DAISY?" Mickey Welch(HOF); Chicago - "OH COME OFF!" Cap Anson(HOF); Pittsburgh - "A SLIDE FOR HOME" Jim McCormick; Boston - "THE FLOWER OF THE FLOCK" King Kelly; Washington - "AN ANXIOUS MOMENT" Paul Hines; Indianapolis - "STRUCK BY A CYCLONE" Jack Glasscock; and Detroit - "WATCH ME SOAK IT" Dan Brouthers(HOF). Card fronts exhibit superior color with wonderful eye appeal and look to be VG-EX to EX. The Glasscock has an ad on the front. 8 of the cards have the same ad stamped on the back. The Kelly has no ad at all. The Andrews and Kelly are a little under 3" top to bottom. Fronts are super clean with a couple of cards having pencil writing/marks on the back. Very popular and desirable 19th century trade card issue.
Also included is a Tobin black & white trade card lithograph titled "A SLIDE FOR HOME (GO-IT!)". Smaller 2 11/16" by 4 3/16" size. In VG looking condition with a stain.
