Presidential recognition and confirmation of the credentials of the Portuguese Consul General to the United States of America signed at the bottom by both President Abraham Lincoln and Secretary of State William Seward dated September 30th 1862. Very strong 8/10 looking Lincoln signature with Seward about the same. Great Seal of the United States has either faded badly or is missing at the lower left side. Some 1/2" by 9 1/2" dark water stains along the bottom center edge. Included are copies of vintage photos of Lincoln and Seward 2 of each. Framed to a size of 18 3/4" by 15".
